Manhattan Mayhem
The Manhattan is one of the oldest and most-loved cocktails out there. At heart, just three ingredients – whisky, vermouth and bitters – and a garnish. While it’d be wrong to change a winning formula, there’s nothing wrong with a bit of tinkering. In celebration of the Manhattan, and several bottles of unique ingredients recently acquired, here are ATK’s choicest Manhattan variations. These showcase the vast differences that small changes can make: swapping bourbon for rye whisky, adding drops of funky Maraschino liquer, the bitter complexity of Cynar, or using different Italian sweet vermouths, bitters and garnishes.
All served straight up unless ordered on the rocks.
