CAMA Festival Soundtracks

To get warmed up for Saturday’s CAMA Festival 6 at the American Club, we’ll be listening to tracks and albums by CAMA Festival performers all night.

If you’ve not heard Akil the MC rapping on any of Jurassic 5′s classic albums then Wednesday’s the night to get yourself an education. Albums like Power in Numbers, Quality Control and their eponymous debut set alternative hip hop alight in the late 90s. We’ll also check out Electric Eel Shock’s Sugoi Indeed from 2009 – an album created using $50,000 donated from their fans via Sellaband – as well as Carsick Cars’ self titled debut of Chinese indie rock. Local favourites Zamina released their debut album last month to rave reviews – if you’ve not heard it yet, come down, enjoy the crisp production and support the artist by buying yourself a copy.

Turbo Goth’s debut Destroy Us All dropped in January, with hits like Venus Fly Trap and Farfalla Vendetta making sure it’s been getting plenty of attention. Poubelle International have two EPs to their name – Avec La Boom and Sans Controle  both of which contain infectious pop melodies galore. Try not to tap your feet when listening to The Hedonist or The Sell Out. Just try.

Your more used to loving them live but our favourite Vietnamese band have also recorded a few tracks. We’ll be showcasing three of Go Lim’s best tunes on Wednesday.
